• Day-to-day management of the allocated vessels, cross check and review vessel daily/maintenance reports, documentations, company accreditation and statutory requirements.
• Work closely with the representatives from various classification societies and governing agencies which regulate the operation of the vessels. Ensuring that fleet is maintained and in compliance within Class and Flag State Authority requirements at all times and take remedial measures for any deviation.
• • Ensure technical support is provided to vessels at sea and whilst in port. Support the repair and maintenance of all vessel mechanical, electrical and electronic systems and oversee dry docking planning as required and technical budgets of the Deck and Engine in coordination with Master/chief Engineer/ owner/managing company .
• Review technical reports from vessels and report daily fleet status to owner/managing company
• Conduct vessel visits, inspections and technical audits and submit report to the owner/managing company within agreed timescales.
• Monitor major deficiencies / defects that exist in the vessels and ensure safety is not jeopardized and ensuring that vessels are maintained in a state of operational readiness.
• Ensure in cooperation with the Marine Superintendent, that technically related incidents, failures and damages are properly investigated and reported.
• Maintain direct communication, including frequent visits, with senior management and crew, assist in the selection and installation of machinery, equipment, and safety appliances to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, company safety, and environmental policy.
• Liaise with and verify performance of 3rd party managers ensuring that ships are manned / operated with appropriately trained and qualified personnel and in accordance with the company's agreed procedures / aspirations.
• Motivate ships personnel and encourage teamwork and improvement
• Other ad-hoc roles deemed fit as instructed by the owner/managing company
